TJ is marking its 50th anniversary with a special day of learning and celebration in London on 10th July. In keeping with TJ’s ethos of supporting the professional development of all those involved in workplace learning and development the programme will be varied, practical and interactive

In 1965, Training Officer magazine became the first independent, UK- based publication for those involved in training and development – now known as TJ – it is marking its 50th anniversary with a special day of learning and celebration on Friday 10th July at etc.venues St Pauls.

The learning sessions have been selected and designed to give L&D practitioners maximum exposure to current thinking in L&D today. The speakers include top learning guru and keynote speaker Nigel Paine, the CIPD’s head of learning and development Andy Lancaster and the University of Westminster’s Professor Vlatka Hlupic.

The day rounds off with a drinks reception, including birthday cake and canapés. [pullquote]Those with a long association with TJ will join the main conference audience to toast the importance of L&D in our organisations today and to recognise TJ’s longstanding contribution to the industry[/pullquote].

Debbie Carter, TJ’s editor says: “Although we will be celebrating our legacy to the L&D community the conference programme we have on offer will be firmly rooted in the here and now. There will be exciting, cutting edge sessions demonstrating the importance of learning agility and business focus, along with some fascinating glimpses of the technologies impacting on our practice in ways hard to imagine outside the realms of science fiction.”

To mark the event, TJ is also conducting a survey on the demographics of L&D the results will be presented at the conference on 10th July.
