46% of workers fear skill obsolescence within five years as AI reshapes the workplace

As technology and artificial intelligence reshapes industries, 46% of employees fear their skills will be obsolete within five years, with 29% expecting it to happen even sooner, according to new research from Kahoot!, the global learning and engagement platform.

Regardless of this, the survey reveals significant barriers to successful upskilling, including time constraints and irrelevant and boring training. The findings highlight the need for flexible, engaging learning solutions to keep workers competitive as AI reshapes skills.

64% of training leaders have seen an increase in employee engagement after investing in L&D

Learning & Development programmes have been shown to improve employee engagement, productivity and creativity according to a report commissioned by learning platform provider, Rise Up in partnership with People Management.

The survey, conducted among 200 senior L&D professionals in the UK, reveals that 64% of training leaders have seen an increase in employee engagement after investing in L&D. This is in addition to 43% of respondents noting that enhanced L&D efforts have positively impacted employee retention, and a quarter claiming that L&D programmes have helped improve innovation, creativity and productivity.

New research: Most Women would Quit their Job for one that Offers Better Menstrual Health Support

A recent survey conducted by Lifesum, the leading global healthy eating app, highlights a significant gap in menstrual health support within the workplace, with over half of respondents indicating they would consider quitting their current job for one that better supports their menstrual cycle needs.

According to the survey of 2,100 women, 51.9% would be willing to quit their current job for one that offers specific practices and policies to assist in managing menstrual cycles.

78% of neurodivergent research participants reporting feeling overwhelmed at work

New research conducted by Birkbeck, University of London with Neurodiversity in Business (NiB) has discovered that two thirds of neurodivergent people have more than one neurodevelopmental condition, and that levels of wellbeing are worryingly low across neurodivergent workers, with 78% of neurodivergent research participants reporting feeling overwhelmed at work.

Heavy workload is having a significant impact on people’s wellbeing

Almost a fifth of employees (18%) feel stressed at work, according to recent data from Inpulse, experts in employee engagement, whose survey data takes into consideration 20,000 employees across 10 countries.

Matt Stephens, CEO of Inpulse, said: ‘When looking at individual comments about why they feel stressed, the main reason is workload.”

New research reveals alarming levels of stress and burnout among managers

The increased responsibilities of managers coupled with a more challenging economic, political, and social climate have conspired to make managers’ jobs more difficult than ever before, according to a new meQuilibrium (meQ) report on how to build better managers. meQ data found that compared to non-managers, managers are 36% more likely to report feeling burned out and 24% more likely to report considering quitting their job in the next six months.

Businesses representing over 150,000 people have already signed up to pledge some time away from tech, which is well on the way to the 1.6 million people who were part of the movement last year.
