TJ Awards 2016 concluded with 45 winners being announced at a fabulous Gala Dinner in the City of London

The finale of this year’s TJ Awards took place last night at The Brewery in the City of London where 46 winners in 15 categories received their trophies and certificates.

The evening hosted by TV and radio presenter Kate Garraway was another fabulous evening when over 500 guests, finalist and sponsors gathered in the city of London to mark the occasion.
Three organisations dominated the evening by achieving double gold wins this year. Transport for London won the top accolade in the change management and customer service categories, as well as silver in the best use of technology in learning, a closely contested category.
House of Fraser achieved the top spot in the leadership development programme and the L&D team of the year category against a large number of entries particularly in the leadership group. They also won bronze in best use of technology in learning along with partners Growth Engineering.
The Bank of Ireland achieved gold in the best commercial programme along with partners Accenture; a partnership that won gold in 2014 too. Eamonn Eaton received the L&D professional of year top spot this year – echoing a similar success last year when he led his crew to the team of the year top spot.
Others also shone on the night, Daniel Swarovski AG attained two bronze positions with partners The Conversation Space in the best commercial and the best coaching and mentoring programmes. They won silver in the best learning partnership with Ashridge Executive Education.
Other overseas entrants achieved success with Sunder Ramachandran from GlaxoSmithKline India being runner up in the L&D category. Ramachandran’s work was praised by the judges: “Sunder has role modelled the use of a wide range of future-focussed approaches, demonstrating innovative thinking.”
Commenting on the results TJ’s editor and awards co-ordinator says: “This year saw some fantastic entries and everyone who was shortlisted should feel proud to have achieved that level of success.
“Our judges, who judge all categories separately, always seem to pick out the outstanding entries, hence the success of Transport for London, House of Fraser and Bank of Ireland this year – the cream of the crop this year!
“Our awards this year were supported by some of the biggest organisations in the business DPG, Blue Sky Performance Improvement, CIPD, CPD Standards, GetMyFirstJob, ncfe and Skillsoft who I must thank as without their support we would not be able to offer such a great event to our finalists.”
