approach to take is to view your entry as not only a way of potentially gaining kudos for your organisation, department, team or even yourself, but also a great learning exercise. How often do you take time out

of your working day to refl ect and evaluate your best work? Not often, I’d wager. As learning professionals, we know the importance of refl ection in embedding learning and identifying new opportunities to learn. Add to that external input, perhaps from one of our judges’ feedback reports, and the process provides great insight into whether your programmes are achieving the success you want. Making the fi nals is the goal and

venues, Prospero House, 241 Borough High Street, London SE1 1GA and will last 30 minutes. T ere is up to 10 minutes at the start of the interview for you to update the judges with new data and fi ndings and to give a personal perspective of your programme and why it deserves a TJ Award. T e remainder of the interview enables the judges to ask questions and drill down into the detail of the initiative and to remove any doubts they may have about the standard of the entry.

Gala Dinner and Networking Lunch

T e interview stage decides on the winners and there will be gold, silver and bronze awards in each category. T e winners are announced at the Gala Dinner held at T e Brewery in London on Tuesday, December 6. It is a great fi nale to the awards and the fantastic

Porter Tun room at T e Brewery pro- vides a fabulous backdrop to the event. Last year, nearly 600 fi nalists, sponsors and guests from the L&D industry gathered to mark the occasion and to recognise the best work being undertaken in learning and development in the UK and beyond. T e pictures on this page give you a sense of the occasion and TJ looks forward to welcoming our fi nalists for 2016 in December. To enhance the experience, those attending the Gala Dinner will be off ered the chance to attend a Networking Lunch on Wednesday, December 7 from 11am to 3pm. Here you can chat to winners, other fi nalists, judges and sponsors and have the opportunity to learn a little more about the TJ Awards process and what makes a winning entry.
