Twitter chats - which ones and what do you get from them?

Written by Jo Cook on 2 August 2018

Hi all,

I'm wondering if any of you regularly join in on Twitter chats and which ones? And what do you learn or get out of them?

I join #LDinsight on UK Friday mornings 8-9am. I love the different thinking on L&D topics.

I've tried joining others from different industries but have sometimes found that they are just selling posts and not any discussions. What can you recommend, within and outside of L&D?

There's also #GuildChat from the eLearning Guild, which happens Friday's at 7pm UK time. I don't join that one often as, well, it's Friday evening. But when I do, it's always interesting and a different bunch of people to chat with!

Not as many as I should do. Should we start one too or would we not be adding much value to the twittersphere?

Hmmm I do keep thinking about some kind of TJ Twitter chat. We have so much good material each day/week/month that we could draw upon, plus the great authors.

As long as we do something that doesn't clash with another Twitter chat, and we do something that adds to the conversation, I think it's a great idea.

I wonder if our forum members have some ideas or advice on this point?
