SUMMARY:Women in Public Technology
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, 27th March 2024 | Online \nThree million individuals power the UK technology sector. Yet\, within this thriving industry\, female representation remains stubbornly low — only 26% of these tech enthusiasts are women\, and just 5% find themselves in leadership positions. \nThere is no exception when it comes to the persistence of the gender gap for women working in public technology. Gender leadership gaps in the traditionally male-dominated field of technology have both visible and invisible barriers that continue to hold women back.  Furthermore\, there is marked lack of data and support addressing the specific circumstances of women working in public technology. \nThe unique Women in Public Technology conference seeks to address this gap and support next-generation female leaders in the sector. The event will bring together current and future leaders from across the sector to examine the role of women in public technology and the current and future challenges to leadership. Over the course of the day\, senior leaders will offer guidance\, coaching\, and inspiration for further developing your career\, reaching empowerment and fulfilling your potential. \nWhy attend?\n\nExamine the barriers currently facing female leaders (and future leaders) in public technology and hear how to overcome them\nUnderstand when and how gender plays a role in both organisational and personal advancement\nLearn how successful women negotiate what they need to be effective leaders\nGain a deeper understanding of the skills\, qualities and attributes needed to be a successful leader\nRaise the visibility of women as senior leaders in public technology\nCreate a lasting network of women leaders across the sector who are effecting change in public technology\n\nWho should attend?\nThe Women in Public Technology conference is aimed at all those who aspire to move into a leadership role or those already in a senior role looking to progress. Presentations and workshops offer practical advice and coaching relevant to all women across the public technology sector. \nMore Information

SUMMARY:HR Webinar Series: Proving Impact
DESCRIPTION:The way we work has changed—and workplace learning needs to reflect these changes. That means adopting modern learning practices and recognising we need to modernise how we support people\, as well as how we measure the impact of that work. \nIn this session we’ll look at how learning has changed and how building capacity in the workplace is as important as ability to the learning function. Too often left until the end of a business change\, we’ll look at measurement and evaluation to prove the effects of the work we do and how this moves your function to being a true business partner instead of an order taker. Most importantly\, people in this session will take away a range of tactics and models which you will be able to apply immediately. \nIn this session you will hear: \n\nWhy learning needs to adapt to the changing workplace\nWhy your evaluation approach needs to change\nReal world changes you can adopt\nThe effects it can have on business\n\nRegister here: https://events.hubilo.com/proving-impact/register

SUMMARY:Unlocking the Senior Civil Service Online
DESCRIPTION:Entering the Senior Civil Service is difficult due to a variety of factors. The recruitment process is highly competitive\, with a large pool of applicants vying for a limited number of positions. Also\, the selection criteria are rigorous\, focusing on relevant experience and personal qualities such as leadership\, strategic thinking\, and communication skills. Additionally\, the civil service has a hierarchical structure with clearly defined career paths\, sometimes meaning that promotion to senior positions is based on performance or tenure. The nature of the work at SCS level also requires a high level of responsibility\, expertise\, and knowledge\, which can only be gained through years of experience and training. \nUnlocking the Senior Civil Service is a unique conference offering practical help and guidance to those wishing to develop into the Senior Civil Service. It is specifically designed to give you the answer to two vital questions: \n\nHow can I improve my chances of entering the SCS?\nWhat will life be like once I am there?\n\n\nWhy Attend? \n\nThe benefits of attending this conference include the opportunity to:\nResolve the questions in your mind about whether or not the SCS is right for you\nLearn from experts about what you can do to improve your chances of making the grade\nGain deeper understanding of the skills\, qualities and competencies required to be successful in the SCS\nExamine the barriers and enablers affecting your progression\nHear from recent entrants about how they made the move and what life is like now they are there\nNetwork with peers and counterparts from across Government who are also contemplating an SCS career
