Best practice from the NHS and the social care sector dominated the TJ Awards 2017 - when the winners were announced at last night’s Gala Dinner in London.

Last night, Tuesday 5 December, the TJ Award winners of 2017 were announced at a glittering Gala Dinner, in the heart of the City of London. The evening, hosted by Sally Gunnell OBE and held at The Brewery, was a sell-out event with 500 guests from the L&D industry celebrating the very best practice in learning and development.

Gold trophies were presented to 16 finalists, with a further 18 silver and 18 bronze certificates being presented on the night.

Innovation in the health and social care sector was recognised by this year’s judging panel. Four Seasons Health Care scooped gold in the organisational development and change categories while their lead in developing their care home assistant practitioner (CHAP) programme, Louise Morris took the top spot in the L&D professional of the year category.

Debbie Carter, editor-in-chief at TJ says: “Yet again the TJ Awards have shown that some of the most innovative and successful programmes come from L&D departments that are working with low budgets and often poor staff morale, but despite these disadvantages, manage to deliver organisational success.”

Another notable winner was a partnership of NHS trusts, South of England NHS Mental Health Collaborative which built service improvement capability and capacity across 17 Mental Health NHS providers across the South of England. This great work won them gold in both the public sector and operational categories. Other gold winners were: Greene King, Moto Hospitality, Transport for London, Virgin Media and Wickes.
