A routine is something I’ve not been able to settle into, what with working either 6-10am or 2-10pm shifts at Remploy Sheffield and doing a day release course at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology.
I’m a welder at the factory, making things like chairs and tables for schools and offices, and had not really considered broadening my horizons until the company, which actively encourages employees to expand their skills, approached me and asked if I was interested in training opportunities.
I scouted around the college in my home town of Rotherham, reported back with details of an Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) in welding and fabrication, the company gave me the go-ahead to start and I haven’t really looked back since.
