The days when new training initiatives were met with a universal groan are long gone. Today, ‘going on a training course’ could just as easily mean a weekend of white water rafting, a couple of hours learning an aria from Madame Butterfly or downloading a video to your iPod, as it might sitting bored stiff in a classroom, learning the finer points of health and safety compliance.
Choice in the training market, in terms of both content and delivery methods, has never been wider. The range of tools in the trainer’s tool box is huge: e-learning, blended learning, mobile learning, podcasts, webcasts, games, books, videos – the choices seem endless, but how constructive is it to offer so many options?
