Raising awareness of ethics in business

Despite business ethics achieving a higher profile of late – many companies now have a policy and ask staff to conform to it as part of their employment contract – few are providing adequate training and awareness programmes.
The latest figures available from a survey, undertaken by the Institute of Business Ethics, show there has been no growth at all in the amount of workforce business ethics training undertaken, and half of all respondents said they did not provide training about the application of their codes of ethics. Surveys in the USA and Canada show a similar trend, highlighting a major disconnect in business ethics training.
