Seventeen years ago, a car containing Vivienne Bowen-Morgan, a somewhat bedraggled regional organiser from the Carmarthenshire Centre for the Prince’s Trust, drew up at a remote hotel in Pembrokeshire. She had been rained out after a week’s camping at St David’s with a Prince’s Trust party and was looking for inspiration. Surely there must be a better way to organise the week-long holidays for disadvantaged school pupils that had become her deeply-held passion? Surely there must be a way with rather less mud and mess and rather more fun?
