Being a relative newcomer to the L&D industry (I’ve been at TJ for less than a year), one of the most enjoyable and personally valuable aspects of my job is attending industry events. Seminars, breakfast meetings, book launches, venue openings, lunches and conferences provide invaluable opportunities to meet people, listen to their views and – most importantly – learn about L&D and the issues facing practitioners.
Events like HRD 2007 contribute a lot to my CPD. So many practitioners and providers in one place, exchanging ideas and information, provide the perfect setting for informal learning.
