E-learning: today and tomorrow

For years, you could capture the essence of e-learning with the phrase “high on vision but low on delivery”; in other words, the subject of inflated expectations. Only recently, I tried this test at a conference with some 150 people in the audience. The “Raise your hand if you’ve implemented an e-learning programme” request generated a virtually 100 per cent response; “Were you completely happy with it?” generated a response of less than 10 per cent and “Will you do it again?” was around 75 per cent.
