There are times in a child’s life when presents, and many of them, are the defining moment. Christmas is one such tradition, and it is an education to watch a child deal with what lies inside the various coloured wrapping papers that finally get to be opened. From the original pile emerge sub-groups. There are those placed in the pile of little real interest, those that are appreciated but are not urgent to investigate, and there are those that bring immediate and obvious delight, and the child cannot wait until they can start enjoying them.
