With the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Bill being given the go-ahead in last month’s Queen’s Speech, organisations cannot afford to be casual about their responsibilities towards heath and safety. The Bill, aptly dubbed by many as the’Kill Bill’, will introduce a new offence of corporate manslaughter/homicide; it passed its Second Reading in the House of Commons in October and will be carried over into the next parliamentary session.
So how will this new legislation affect organisations and their approach to health and safety?
