Performance, at least in organisational terms, usually means the meeting or beating of expectations, achievement of objectives and the meeting, or beating of targets. Managing performance, again in organisation terms, normally means measuring how well people perform and then giving them feedback to support and/or correct their performance. Most performance management systems, therefore, have three elements in the cycle – setting performance indicators, measuring performance,and giving feedback.
