When Homer Simpson remarks “every time I learn something, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain”, he is speaking not just for Middle America but for much of the British workforce too. This cannot be good news for UK (or US) plc.

Our minds are much more expandable than this. In fact, human beings are ‘hard-wired’ to adapt and change and are capable of accommodating new knowledge until the day they die without necessarily displacing existing stuff!
