As one the key iconic figures of modern British fashion, Zandra Rhodes makes something of a natural figurehead for the industry. Furthermore, as a vocal advocate of fashion training and lifelong learning, it is equally fitting that she should have joined one of a growing band of industry leaders to put their name to training facilities in the UK. Like many other high profile and successful professionals – including retail billionaire Philip Green, who has long led the charge for better skills development in the retail trade and who gave his backing to the Retail Academy upon its opening last year – Rhodes is seriously involved in the campaign for better learning and development within her beloved fashion industry.
