High on the agenda of many organisations today is an enthusiasm for employee ‘engagement’. We have learnt that this is not the same thing as employee satisfaction, in that people may feel happy because they are comfortable and have an easy life. This may not correlate with performance at all, and yet surveys can give us the impression that all is well.
