On the whole, the automotive industry has a strong record on staff training and development, and BMW is no exception. For almost two decades the car manufacturer has operated a staff training academy in the UK, serving its dealer network as well as the many hundreds of apprentices who come through its doors. However, in recent years, the company found that its existing training had become vastly overstretched, and decided that something needed to be done to improve the facilities it offered to its growing UK operation.
