As I write this column, the news is still full of doom and gloom, threatening further economic meltdown lightly sprinkled with ‘green shoots’ of recovery. From where I am sat, I cannot think of a better time to be talking to my fellow learning and development professionals.
I see a lot of what is going on as psychological warfare and, if a Cegos survey undertaken in March across Europe is anything to go by, it looks like we may be losing the battle. The survey highlighted two key issues central to these mind games – budgets and the need to spend them based on learner needs.
