Forty-nine-year-old Vince has been working for the council for the last three years. For two of those years he’s been sponsored by his employer to gain adult literacy entry level 2 qualifications, which will allow him to go on to study at full NVQ level in the future.
What is remarkable about Vince is that, when he joined the council, he had no qualifications at all.
Since catching the learning bug, though, he has been recognised with an Adult Learners’ Week award, and is so keen to help others learn that he has become a Union Learning Rep.
