Call any customer service centre in the continental United States and a service representative named George, Jerry or Elaine will help route you to the proper department or solve your issue outright.
But the people behind the names that seem to have been picked randomly from re-runs of Seinfeld have a distinct Indian accent, as most Americans have learned by now. That is, of course, because George, Jerry and Elaine likely work somewhere near Bangalore at one of India’s many outsourcing companies that service major players in the US economy. And whether they’ve actually seen a Seinfeld re-run is anybody’s guess.
Now India’s outsourcing giants are setting their sights on Europe.
