Workplace mediation and dispute resolution training provider Conflict Management Plus has appointed REBECCA FOREMAN as training and consultancy manager. Foreman has spent eight years working in the Third Sector, as a training and consultancy manager and senior consultant at Crime Concern and Opportunity Links. She said: “My ongoing focus is to raise further the quality benchmark of all our services to all our clients.”
The British Computer Society has made a “determined bid” to strengthen its international programme with the appointment of former Examination Institute for Information Science vice president MICHIEL VAN DER VOORT as international director. He will lead the BCS in a “vigorous push” to develop its global programme, following growing demand for its membership and accredited qualifications, particularly from countries with strongly-emerging IT economies. He will be responsible for globally developing the BCS’s ISEB brand of IT qualifications.
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has promoted BRAD TAYLOR to head of human resources. Taylor has worked at CIMA since May 2006 and was previously an HR business partner; he will now oversee the global alignment of HR processes in each of the international offices as CIMA continues to grow into new markets.
Charles Tilley, CIMA chief executive, said: “Brad’s promotion marks a very exciting time of growth and development for CIMA globally. Human resources activities play a vital role when it comes to supporting employees around the world so that they are able to deliver CIMA’s strategy. I am confident that Brad’s wealth of experience will make a substantial contribution to the delivery of our ambitions.”
TTC Group director JENNY WYNN has been appointed chairwoman of the Association of Drink Drive Approved Providers of Training (ADDAPT); she will now represent 22 organisations educating 35,000 convicted drink drivers in the UK every year. Shropshire-based TTC Group trains employers to manage occupational road risk, runs courses on speed awareness and the National Driver Improvement Scheme; it also provides education for drink drivers.
Psychometric assessment and development solutions provider SHL has appointed DAVID LEIGH to its board of directors. As chief commercial officer, he will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s expansion plans. Leigh joins SHL from Steria, a pan-European IT and business process outsourcing company where he was group BPO director and a member of the executive committee.
“This is an exciting time to join SHL, a growing company with enormous global potential and 30 years’ worth of assets that help to transform the workplace,” he said. “Companies say that people are their biggest assets. If that’s the case, the cost of assessing those assets is minimal compared to the increased productivity and effectiveness which a company will experience if it has the right person in the right job.”
International consultant IAN URE has joined management and leadership consultancy SFL as programme director, private sector, after 12 years’ international experience in the hospitality, leisure and private equity sectors. At SFL, he will be reporting to Emma Jones and will be focusing on programme delivery, business development and account management.
Ure said: “Throughout my career I have held a deep personal interest in leadership philosophy, in particular the power of authentic leadership and the possibilities it presents to the commercial world. I am happy to be pursuing this passion and am excited to be part of a team which I believe has the capability to transform the UK leadership landscape.”
