Much too often in today’s business culture, trainers – those who deliver not only the content, but the essential context of a business to employees, recruits and outside audiences – are treated in a fashion that reminds one of how Hollywood treats its screenwriters.
They are stashed away in a low-profile corner of the org chart – only the accountable top dog is likely to be considered an executive; it’s more likely the head training honcho will report to a titled exec – they are under-paid, under-utilised and usually under-valued.
And yet, where human resources are concerned, absolutely nothing happens within an organisation until the workforce is ramped up, pumped up and otherwise empowered to have some sort of clue about how their roles and functions fit into the big picture.
