I have often wondered why some people wish to become managers. It can be, without doubt, one of the most difficult and demanding of roles. I recognise it is the natural route for those with ambition, it can give people a certain amount of kudos, you may get more money and power, it can impress the neighbours, and the word ‘manager’ certainly has a ring to it on your income tax form.
