New skills champion for small businesses

Small businesses have a new champion in the skills arena, in the shape of a national organisation founded by a group of training providers.
The National Partnership for Employer-Led Training (NPELT) aims to influence public policy on learning and skills and ensure that the views of SMEs and group training organisations are heard by the government and funding agencies.
The organisation has been given a cautious welcome by small businesses, who say that, while they are pleased there is another opportunity to be heard within the national debate on skills levels, they “get very tired of being asked about their needs”.
