Responding to the challenge of sustainable development is critical for long-term competitive advantage. It will drive greater efficiencies, innovation and positive reputation. As the Stern Review (2007) and other climate change reports make clear, the economic costs and social disruption of global warming are going to be on an unprecedented scale if we do not make a concerted effort to bring in more sustainable ways of producing wealth and social well-being in the near future.
