Many voluntary and community organisations are committed to training and developing their staff but are held back by lack of time and money.

That’s one of the findings of a report published last month looking at the skills situation in the English voluntary sector.

Produced by UK Workforce Hub and the Skills for Health sector skills council, Voluntary Sector Skills Survey 2007 England also reveals that, in common with the public and private sectors, the third sector is finding it difficult to recruit employees with the necessary skills and is experiencing skills gaps within its existing workforce.
