Today’s office-based work pattern is changing. Driven by technology and increased flexible working, the issue of whether staff should be enabled to work from home is rising on the agenda in boardrooms around the country.
The corporate shift towards achieving work-life balance has led to many employees re-evaluating what is important to them and reassessing their jobs. A recent survey by employment services provider Manpower found that almost half of the UK’s workforce would change jobs for a shorter commute and that, on average, workers spend 360 hours, or 15 days, a year just getting to work. It is little wonder that 71 per cent of respondents also stated that they would like to work from home if they had the option. But does this help the company?
