David Ellicott and Des Morrison, who both have over 20 years experience in criminal justice and public protection, have joined forces with an alcohol and drug education training group to provide an answer to low level crime by educating offenders.
Criminal Justice Training Solutions (CJTS) aims to work with the probation service to steer people away from crime through high quality “interventions” to turnaround “low risk” offenders leading to greater public protection.
They will provide Offending Behaviour Programmes and Unpaid Work Solutions including alcohol and drug education, vocational skills, offender supervision and individual and group work placements.
Des Morrison, a former Premiership assistant referee who has calmed down many irate situations on the football field said: “Specific programmes for offenders will be created to give them skills and re-training and build up their confidence so that they will not re-offend in the future.
“The best outcome for an offender and for society is to enable them to secure a job. We hope to bridge the gap and encourage employers to take a measured risk and give them that chance to keep them on the straight and narrow.”
Their partners in crime prevention are TTC Group director Jenny Wynn, a former senior probation officer and husband Graham, a former magistrate. They will join forces to provide drug misuse education to raise awareness among offenders and motivate them to stop.
