Learning and Development News - British Computer Society to publish IT Training

IT Training, which is aimed at HR directors and IT trainers, currently has a readership of 13,000.  The British Computer Society, which publishes four other journals, will announce a new complementary IT training e-newsletter for information technology trainers.

David Clarke, chief executive of the BCS, says: “Taking on IT Training underlines the BCS’s widely-stated commitment to creating an all-inclusive IT profession of the future, on a par with medicine and law. IT trainers are a very important part of the IT profession and taking on the IT Training magazine will allow us to continue to widen the communications we have to the wider IT community. It also supports our mission this year to engage with the public regarding the significance of information technology and the importance of obtaining the right IT experience and qualifications.”

David Pardo, from IT Skills Research, a specialist market research organisation which offers the latest research on the IT training industry, welcomed the BCS’s new role in the magazine.

"The BCS is widely recognised for its commitment to promoting best practice in IT training and qualifications. We were delighted to hear about their ambitious plans for IT Training magazine, and we look forward to working with the BCS team to exploit the potential synergies between IT Training and IT Skills Research."

The first issue of IT Training to be published by BSC will drop through letterboxes in May.
