Learning and Development News - NVQ Apprenticeships

The eight, all of whom were unemployed, joined the Apprenticeship programme whilst training and studying  towards an NVQ Level 2 Contact Centre award.  Having clinched their jobs and successfully progressed through the three-month probation period they are looking forward to a successful career after getting that all-important first foot on the career ladder.

The young recruits are so pleased with their achievements that they staged a special presentation to show their proud parents just how much they have progressed during the last three months.

The group includes Matthew Hadfield from Mosborough, Alex Wilson from High Green, Nicki Dawson from Hackenthorpe, Jade Palmer from Beighton,  Kabir Shabir from Hillsbrough, Sabina Kauser from Sharrow, Carlie Hardy from Manor Estate, and Keren Bishell from Rawmarsh.

Pertemps Training, working in partnership with the Learning and Skills Council, helped the teenagers clinch their jobs and successfully progress through the three-month probation period.

Josie Hartley, operations manager at Pertemps Training, said: “This is a wonderful success story and these young people should be proud of their achievements. They have all achieved so much in such a short space of time.

“They are all working hard towards their NVQs with support from Capita, the Learning and Skills Council, and ourselves. It was great to give them an opportunity to demonstrate  just how well they were doing by staging five-minute presentations for their parents and colleagues.”

Capita director Steve Robertson said: “We are very pleased with the enthusiasm and commitment shown by all of the team and are also delighted with their performance to date. We will be watching their progress very closely in the coming months to ensure that they continue to develop their skills with Capita. This scheme has been a great success and we are already in discussions with our partners over extending the scheme further this year.”
