Learning and Development News - New L&D event coming to London's Olympia

A new event aimed at L&D professionals that promotes an integrated approach to workplace learning, is set to launch.

Learning and Skills 2010 will run alongside Learning Technologies 2010 on 27th and 28th January next year at London’s Olympia. It aims to showcase the entire spectrum of methods, products and services available for workplace learning and employee development.

Show founders Ian Smout and Mark Penton are hoping that by joining the two events exhibitors and visitors will get the opportunity to review the full range of L&D options available in one place.

“There is a totally new audience of learning and HR professionals enthusiastic to adopt a more integrated approach to workplace learning and the combination of the two events will help them achieve that,” said Penton.

“It will be an outstanding opportunity for the learning industry to channel its energy into what will be Europe's most significant gathering of organisational learning professionals, and exhibitors at the new event will be part of an exciting new launch where the audience is already guaranteed.”

Smout says research shows more than 30 per cent of the audience at Learning Technologies are responsible for training budgets in excess of £1m, but that the majority of this budget is allocated to traditional learning products and services, which Learning and Skills 2010 will cater for.

He adds that over 80 per cent of the visitors to Learning Technologies plan to find time to attend the launch event, as well as recommending that colleagues in their organisation responsible for other areas of learning and development also visit.

The event, which is expected to attract 3,000 visitors, will feature four themed areas covering people development, learning and performance, learning resources and HR systems and services.

There will also be more than 50 free seminars for visitors to attend over the course of the  two-day show, which organisers hope will complement the educational agenda and strategic conference taking place at Learning Technologies.
