The National School of Government has been named a centre of excellence for procurement training for the eleventh year in a row.
It received three stars from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply for its provision of the CIPS’s procurement qualification programmes – the highest award possible from the CIPS.
The NSG says the award confirms its position within the top 20 procurement training providers in the UK.
CIPS is the largest worldwide professional body for people working in purchasing and supply, procurement or supply chain management. It visits its registered UK training providers every year to ensure they meet quality standards.
In their report on the NSG, CIPS education network managers said: "Results for all exams are excellent, which is a reflection on the standard of provision and level of tutoring on the National School programmes."
The NSG offers a wide range of CIPS qualifications, from introductory to senior manager and specialist levels, with new optional public sector modules. Programme director Richard Anstis said: "The new public sector optional units give the specialist input and underpinning knowledge needed to reinforce understanding of current public procurement policy and issues such as sustainability, public accountability and good governance."
