Learning and Development News - UK top 50 IT training providers 2008

The latest table of the UK’s top 50 IT training providers from IT Skills Research has just been published.

The list is drawn up based on the revenues of companies with IT training businesses, excluding non-IT training or IT training that is delivered outside the UK.  Training companies whose income is derived mainly from brokerage or royalties or companies whose main income is from publicly funded training or military/defence-specific IT training are also excluded.

There is no change at the top of the table. QA-IQ which has estimated revenue of £63.5 million and Learning Tree International with an income of £23.6 million, remain in first and second place respectively, each increasing their revenues by five per cent.

Xpertise Training in third place has shown the largest growth in the top ten, rising from eighth position in 2007 to third position this year.  Its revenues have leapt by 40 per cent to £22.3 million.

New entrants to the top ten include SkillSoft and Oracle University.

The top ten IT training companies are:

1. QA-IQ
2. Learning Tree International
3. Xpertise Training
4. SAP
5. IBM Training
6. Logica
7. Global Knkowledge
8. Parity Training
9. SillSoft
10. Oracle University.

Responding to publication of the list, the Institute of IT Training reveals that of the top ten IT training companies only SAP and Logica do not hold Institute of IT Training accreditation.

Colin Steed, Chief Executive of IITT said “We are delighted that so many of our accredited organisations have appeared in this year’s list of Top 50 IT Training companies and that this number has grown this year.  We are also very pleased that three of the four newcomers this year also hold IITT Accredited status.  The success of these companies goes some way to reinforce our message that a proven commitment to quality is the key to unlocking potential”.
