Learning and Development News - Queen's Award for Enterprise

One hundred and thirty-nine businesses and 11 individuals received awards in this year’s Queen’s Awards for Enterprise. Organisations were recognised for their achievements in international trade, sustainable development and innovation, while individuals were rewarded for their contributions to UK entrepreneurship.

The winners, who each received an engraved crystal bowl and an entitlement to use the Queen’s Awards emblem on packaging and promotional material for five years, will be invited to attend a reception at Buckingham Palace in the summer.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown said: “Queen’s Award winning companies are standard-bearers for the very best of British business. These firms embody the spirit of enterprise and innovation that is so vital to the future of Britain’s economy. Whether large or small, every one of this year’s winning organisations has achieved outstanding success in its field. I congratulate them all on their diverse and remarkable achievements.”
