Logistics employers are being encouraged to have their say in the development of the retail supply chain element of a new Diploma om Retail supported by Skills for Logistics at a series of regional events.
The Sector Skills Council supports a series of consultation events aimed at developing the Retail Supply Chain theme which covers logistics, warehousing and storage & distribution.
Skills for Logistics, the Sector Skills Council for the freight logistics industries, is working with Skillsmart Retail and the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA) to deliver a series of consultation events to assist with the development of this exciting venture. This new diploma is aimed at 14 – 19 year olds focusing on Retail and the Retail Supply Chain and will bring an innovative approach to learning in the logistics sector.
“As part of the Diploma Development Partnership, Skills for Logistics is working to ensure that the content of the new diploma reflects the needs of industry and therefore is employer led. We cannot emphasise enough the importance of employers in the development of this new diploma and therefore urge employers to have their say by attending these events,” commented John Bowman, Director of Skills at Skills for Logistics.
The purpose of these events is to:
- seek constructive feedback on the draft content of the Diplomas;
- identify any common issues surrounding content;
- ensure the draft content is fully inclusive and does not pose unnecessary barriers to access; and
- facilitate general discussion on opportunities for the learner to progress to other qualifications or employment.
