Learning and Development News - unionlearn Lauches Online Learning Centre

Hundreds of learndirect courses will be available online for millions of trade unionists. A new Online Learning Centre, the result of unionlearn, the TUC's learning and skills organisation, joining forces with Newcastle College Trade Union Education Centre, was  unveiled at the TUC Congress at Brighton.

Over 500 learndirect courses are available to users of the Online Learning Centre. It will also be a valuable resource for Union Learning Reps throughout the country .

The growing numbers of individuals in the UK with internet access will be able to find out information about courses, enrol and be supported throughout their course. The flexible nature of the Online Learning Centre means that traditionally hard to reach learners will be able to learn in their own time.  Users of the interactive courses also have a personal tutor to support them to achieve their aims.

Margaret Stephenson, Head of Trade Union Education at Newcastle College Trade Union Education Centre said:

"We are delighted to have played a part in offering over six million trade union members and their families a flexible and interactive way of fitting learning into their lives."
