Action Learning: Facilitator Skills Intensive

Course Provider:

  Carter Hall Associates
Date:

  1st April 2008 - 2 Days - All levels - Public - £375
Location:

Friends Meeting House, 173 Euston Road, London NW1
Descripton:

For managers, project leaders and anyone with responsibility for individual and team development employed in the public, business and voluntary sectors.
Action learning sets (or peer coaching groups) are a flexible tool used to tackle issues such as: change management, improvement of services, manager support and skills development. The combination of working in a group on real issues - making decisions and taking action - and simultaneously learning from the experience, is exceptionally powerful.

On this course you will learn the theory, format and skills of how to facilitate action learning groups or ‘sets’ and how to introduce this method of problem-solving to others. By the end of the two days you will have gained practical experience as an action learning facilitator.

The course is run as a training set, with a maximum of 6 participants. It is for people who have some experience of managing/supervising teams, or facilitating groups, however no previous action learning experience is required.

“A really inspirational two days! I can see there will be many opportunities to use the learning in the workplace, with many different groups.”
Sarah King, Jobcentre Plus

“An excellent two days. I now feel fully prepared to introduce Action Learning Sets into the organisation. I would highly recommend this course.”
Richard Green, Bath & NE Somerset Council

Intended Audience:

People who wish to use action learning successfully in their own organisations.
