Session 2A
Using cartoons in learning and development
Graham Shaw, Vision Learning
This session will give you an insight into how to use cartoon drawing to enhance learning. Whether you are helping others to learn or interested in improving your own learning ability, this session will give you plenty of ideas.
A quick sketch will often get a point across easily - and make it memorable. Drawing an idea in front of a group is a great way to instantly grab attention and arouse curiosity. If you have ever watched someone drawing you may have found yourself completely absorbed as picture develops. However, as people marvel at the skill of the artist they often confirm a strongly held belief that they themselves are unable to draw. It must be a gift, something that only special people do.
In this lively session you will discover that you can in fact draw effective pictures when you know how. Graham will introduce you to the key ideas from his highly popular Master Class 'Cartooning for Trainers and Presenters.'
As well as experiencing cartoon drawing, you will learn some simple applications to enhance any learning experience. So be prepared to have fun as you draw cartoon characters and examine your beliefs about just what's possible.
By the end of the session you will have begun to develop skills you may never have known you had. You will have made a start on using techniques that can be applied in numerous situations.
