You are in:
The new site is fresh and bold and, I'm sure you'll agree, something of a departure from the one that went before it. It's interactive and contains much more exclusive content for you to enjoy.
There are some old favourites from the magazine here too - the opinion and ideas and resources sections have a new home online, alongside the already familiar magazine archive - giving you access to thousands of in-depth, practical and informative articles written by L&D practitioners on all aspects of L&D.
So now you can find Peter Honey, Martyn Sloman, Tricia Hartley et al at www.trainingjournal.com, and start what we hope will be lively, informed debates sparked by their blogs.
And, of course, we aim to continue to provide you with the latest L&D news every day.
Among the new features of the website is multi-media content (please see Garry Platt's new net check video blog in the ideas and resources section of the site to see an example), the opportunity for you to comment in real time on news stories and opinion pieces, share your own content with colleagues and join in the discussions on our forum.
We also hope to engage with you digitally in new ways too - you can now follow us on Twitter and join our LinkedIn groups. We aim to Twitter live from events such as major conferences, keeping you instantly updated with them as they happen.
I hope you'll enjoy exploring the site and find plenty that engages and is useful. I also hope you will let me and the rest of the TJ team know what you think (our contact details are online here and on p4 of the magazine) - please tell us what works for you, what doesn't and why. Exercises such as this are always a learning experience for everyone involved and we welcome your thoughts and constructive ideas and suggestions.
The website is part of the wider TJ community, comprising the magazine, our L&D 2020 research project, our annual conference and awards and our programme of events, such as the one-day conference on engagement that we held in conjunction with Steps Drama and Room54 earlier this year. We hope to provide you with an all-round resource that enables you to maintain your CPD, keep up-to-date with the latest thinking on how the L&D industry is developing, find out the latest news and connect with fellow practitioners to exchange ideas, experiences, tools and techniques, and views.
You'll notice that the TJ magazine has also radically changed as well. It has a new look, with a rounder, less formal font, bright and engaging colours and a new layout, and an increased emphasis on the in-depth articles that make it such a valuable tool for you.
I hope the new design makes the magazine even more accessible and enjoyable to read. I also hope you'll join our community - both on- and off-line - and play an active role in it: making your voice heard, using the resources available (perhaps even contributing your own), following the news, making connections and giving and receiving support to and from your fellow professionals.
Enjoy!
